Abstract/Summary

As open and collaborative research practices are attracting increasing attention in the social sciences, digital infrastructures which are in line with the needs of scientific research are becoming more relevant. The DFG project SOCIOS (project number: 508986968) offers a new publication platform for collaborative writing and open peer review in the social sciences. The platform guides researchers from draft to final paper submission and open peer review, thus exploits the full potential of preprint publishing. Besides preprints, researchers can submit single journal or book chapters, research posters, and research proposals for open peer review. Social scientists and those interested in the social sciences are invited to publicly contribute their reflections on the manuscripts via comments, thus initiating a scientifically informed discussion with the authors and other reviewers. Authors are expected to take an active role in the debate by responding to the reviewers' comments. Like the papers themselves, peer and author comments will be permanently preserved and become citable via DOI. All content is reusable through open licenses (CC BY 4.0). Our poster presents the architecture of the platform with special remark to the open review cycle.
