Abstract/Summary

The reporting on health and safety at work has a long tradition in Germany. The first 'accident prevention report - work' ('Unfallverhütungsbericht Arbeit'), established in the 1960s, focused on accidents at work and occupational diseases. The health and safety at work policy on humane work design and the changing world of work has demanded in the past, currently demands, and will demand in the future several expansions and changes in content. To meet these demands, surveys are carried out in addition to the use of official and process data to get a closer look at individual working conditions and perceptions.Reporting on health and safety at work and health reporting in general have several features in common, e. g., to some extent both use the same data. The main difference may be the group on which the reporting focusses, which is much more diverse in health reporting.Most challenging for the reporting on health and safety at work will be the (continuously) changing world of work. Technical developments cause structural changes in teamwork on an operational level. Due to working flexibly in terms of time and location, colleagues may only work virtually together, which also brings a fundamental change in requirements for supervisors. Both the methods of collecting data and reporting systems have to adapt to these changes.
