Frontline healthcare workers (HCWs) could be at risk for monkeypox infections. Vaccine hesitancy can be found among HCWs and has an impact on their own attitudes towards vaccination. In the context of the exhaustion due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team around Amandine Gagneux-Brunon aimed to evaluate intentions of HCWs in France and Belgium to get vaccinated against monkeypox. They performed a cross-sectional study using a self-administered online questionnaire evaluate intentions of HCWs to get vaccinated against monkeypox, in case a recommendation for HCW vaccination was given. 397 persons responded. The researchers then compared demographics characteristic, vaccination readiness, eagerness to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, and confidence in HCW with Chi-square tests, student-t and performed a binary regression.
